Exploring the merging of Mexican Ballet Folklorico and Contemporary U.S. Dance in Denton, Texas, this quartet is about people’s unique cultures and identities coming together.
Inspiration For This Piece
Living in the melting pot of the U.S.A., I often question myself, whose voices are missing? How many of us make up this melting pot? These questions inspired the making of this piece.

The sound score for this piece was edited by Ilse Mayté.
Costumes
The tops in this piece were chosen to represent the varying cultures and identities of each dancer. The bright colors also chosen to resemble the bright colors in Folklorico dresses of Mexico. The pants were chosen to flow and flare in order to imitate the flaring of a Folklorico skirt.
